Arsenal to Win and Over 2.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

Arsenal have won 14 of their last 16 home Premier League matches, including their last eight in a row, while Brighton have lost five of their last 10 away league contests. There should be a few goals in this game too as at least three goals have been scored in seven of Arsenal’s last 10 home league games and seven of Brighton’s last 10 on the road.

Arsenal 3-1

Reason for tip

Arsenal have averaged 2.8 goals per home league game in 2024 while Brighton have shipped a few goals on the road in the same period, including four at Luton, three at Bournemouth and three at Fulham. The Seagulls have scored in six of their last 10 away league games and could bag in a 3-1 loss at Emirates Stadium, as perhaps Wolves should have done on the opening weekend of the campaign.

Bukayo Saka To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Bukayo Saka has been involved in 17 goals in his last 19 Premier League appearances (12 goals, 5 assists). He takes penalties and has the pace to exploit any space that Brighton’s high defensive line leaves behind.

Arsenal and Brighton buy again

Arsenal appear to be up to speed quickly this season and can maintain their winning run against a new-look Brighton team at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday. The Gunners have beaten both Wolverhampton Wanderers and Aston Villa by the same 2-0 scoreline and their opponents could have few complaints about the outcome each time.

Mikel Arteta’s men have strengthened again this week with the addition of Spanish midfielder Mikel Merino while Brighton have also remained busy in the transfer market with the capture of Ferdi Kadioglu from Fenerbahce.

The Turkey international could come straight into Fabian Hurzeler’s side at left-back and add another attacking dimension to a side that has already proved too potent for both Everton and Manchester United.

Unbeaten Seagulls step up a level

The Seagulls needed a stoppage-time winner to maintain their 100% start last weekend, but few would begrudge them all three points on a day when their midfield dominated the Red Devils.  It will probably be a different story at the Emirates Stadium, however, as Arsenal’s engine room is far superior to anything Albion have faced this term.

Billy Gilmour, who ran the show against United, may have left for Napoli before this game kicks off. Although Carlos Baleba looked good enough to start regularly in his place when he came on at the Amex Stadium.

Another area of concern for the visitors will be the high defensive line that they held when United had possession, which Erik ten Hag’s men eventually exploited for Amad Diallo’s equaliser. It would be detrimental to use that too often against the Gunners, who will surely not take as long as United did to figure it out. Arsenal’s wide players have the pace to threaten the space behind and Kai Havertz possesses the ability to time his runs from deep too.

Saka the standout goalscorer option

The most enticing goalscorer option, however, is Bukayo Saka. He has been involved in 17 goals in his last 19 Premier League appearances (12 goals, 5 assists).  The England international has scored in three of his last five and assisted Thomas Partey’s clinching goal at Aston Villa last weekend.

For all of Brighton’s strengths on the front foot, they still look vulnerable in defence with the two centre-backs vulnerable to pace and direct runs into the penalty area.

Arteta worked them out well last season when his side beat Roberto de Zerbi’s men home and away. Another Gunners win looks likely on Saturday with at least three goals due in the game too.  The majority of Arsenal’s last 10 home league games and Brighton’s last 10 away league matches have gone over the 2.5-goal mark, so it’s an easy addition for bettors looking to boost the hosts’ odds closer to even money.
