Arsenal vs Molde Predictions
- Arsenal’s 3-0 victory over Dundalk last week is their only win by more than one goal in eight outings across all competitions.
- Molde have won their last six competitive games and, like Arsenal, have secured two wins from two in Group B.
- The Norwegian Champions haven’t lost by more than a one goal margin in their last 25 games in all competitions.
Molde No Pushovers
Arsenal can justify short odds to extend their 100% record in Group B when they entertain Molde on Thursday night, but the Gunners should be made to work hard for the points by the Norwegian champions.
As anticipated, Arsenal strolled to an easy 3-0 win over Dundalk at the Emirates last Thursday and sit top of Group B with a perfect six points from six following their 1-2 comeback success at Rapid Vienna on Matchday One.
The Gunners edged out rivals Manchester United 0-1 at Old Trafford on Sunday and go into this week’s clash with Molde on a real high, but their opponents shouldn’t be underestimated after an equally impressive start to the group.
Erling Moe’s charges have also taken care of Rapid (1-0) and Dundalk (1-2) and are in great shape to qualify for the Last 32 regardless of the results they post in this upcoming double header with the North Londoners.
Molde look set to relinquish their Norwegian title this term as they are some 15 points behind runaway leaders Bodo / Glimt, but they’re undoubtedly still a useful outfit as demonstrated consistently by their results.
The visitors have won their last six in all competitions and haven’t been beaten by more than a one goal margin in their last 25 competitive outings.
So, despite the likelihood that Arsenal will outpoint them this Thursday, the Norwegian’s should definitely prove a stern test for the Gunners.
We’re backing a 2-1 correct score in Arsenal’s favour, but Molde can outrun their lofty pre-match odds. A punt on the visitors with a two goal start makes a great deal of appeal, with Arsenal winning just one of their last eight games by more than a one goal margin.
