Arsenal and Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Arsenal have won four of their last five competitive games but have conceded four goals in that period, while Monaco have lost two of their last three outings but have only failed to score twice in 19 attempts this term.

Arsenal 2-1

Reason for tip

Arsenal scored twice against Manchester United in their last home match and face a Monaco side that have shipped two goals in two of their last four, including a 2-1 loss in their most recent away game.

Gabriel Magalhaes To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Gabriel is expected to return from injury on Wednesday and he will be the main threat from set pieces for an Arsenal side that have found success in that area this season. They have scored a Premier League-high eight set-piece goals and added two more in the Champions League, with Gabriel notching half of those and scoring in his last two appearances.

Arsenal vs Monaco Predictions

  • Arsenal are unbeaten at home this season, winning eight of their ten games.
  • Monaco have scored in 17 of their 19 competitive matches.
  • Monaco have lost two of their last three fixtures.

Gunners set to get back to winning ways

Arsenal’s challenge for the Premier League title took another blow on Sunday as they were held to a 1-1 draw at Craven Cottage, but they should be able to get back to winning ways against Monaco on Wednesday.

The Gunners now sit six points adrift of Liverpool having played a game more than the league leaders, but they have shown improvement since Martin Odegaard’s return and they should propel them to victory at the Emirates.

They have won four of their last five matches and scored 16 times, although they have conceded in three of their last four and could be vulnerable against a Monaco outfit with a solid attacking record.

Les Monegasques can grab a goal

The visitors ended a two-match losing streak at home to Toulouse on Saturday, but four defeats in their last eight competitive matches and 11 goals conceded illustrate their fragility, and that is something Mikel Arteta’s side can take advantage of.

Arsenal are unbeaten at home this season and have won eight of their ten games there, but they have conceded in half of these and Monaco have scored in 17 of their 19 competitive outings this term, so Arsenal to win and both teams to score appeals.

Returning Gabriel could strike

The hosts’ last home game saw them score twice – both from set pieces  -against Manchester United, and Monaco lost their last away day by a 2-1 scoreline, so that’s my correct score prediction, and I expect set pieces to come into play again.

The Gunners have scored a Premier League-high eight set-piece goals this season and have added another two in the Champions League. Centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes has notched four of those and is expected back from injury on Wednesday, so back him to score for a third appearance in a row.
