AVS to Win

Reason for tip

AVS remain unbeaten on home soil this season, picking up two wins from three attempts. They take on a Farense side who have lost all six of their fixtures this season.

AVS 1-0

Reason for tip

AVS have scored exactly once in each of their three home games, including a pair of 1-0 wins. Opponents Farense have failed to score in four of their last five league fixtures, losing 1-0 to Rio Ave and Arouca.

AVS vs SC Farense Predictions

  • Each of AVS’ seven points have been picked up at home
  • Farense are on a six-match losing streak
  • The hosts have won back-to-back outings at Estádio do CD Aves

AVS hoping to build on positive momentum

AVS have been promoted to the Portuguese Primeira Liga for the first time, and they have far from embarrassed themselves so far, picking up seven points from six matches.

Each of those have been collected on home soil, where Rio Ave and Vitoria Guimaraes have left empty handed following 1-0 defeats.

Vítor Campelos, play-off winners last year, also drew 1-1 against Nacional in their opening fixture at Estádio do CD Aves, and will be hard to beat in this contest.

Farense in deep trouble

Indeed, the odds are in the hosts’ favour, given they face a Farense side who have not so much as enjoyed a draw yet this season, losing six times in six attempts.

As such, they sit rock-bottom of the Primeira Liga, conceding a league-high of 13 games (ahead of this round) in the process.

The pressure is therefore on manager José Mota, who will be hoping this side can end a miserable run of eight defeats from their last ten league outings on the road, winning only once.

I predict that AVS will win this game, with 1-0 my correct score prediction.
