Barcelona vs Eintracht Frankfurt Predictions

Barca poised to progress?

After a 1-1 draw in Germany last week, this quarter-final tie is nicely in the balance, but Barcelona must surely me favourites to go through as they look to extend an unbeaten run that dates back to December.

Xavi’s side are sauntering along, both domestically and in Europe, and have won four of their six home games played in 2022, with both teams scoring in two of those matches.

There has been a little problem keeping clean sheets though, with two conceded against Levante in a 3-2 win at the weekend, while both teams have netted in four of their five Europa League fixtures.

Frankfurt up against it

A 2-1 defeat to Freiburg at the weekend ended a run of five successive draws for Frankfurt, but it was their first defeat in nine games in all competitions.

The German outfit are finding it hard to keep clean sheets, with both teams netting in seven of their last nine outings, as well as seven of their last nine away from home.

Oliver Glasner’s side might be slightly favoured by the removal of the away goals rule for this year’s competition, but they will surely need to score to go through – the question is how they keep it quiet at the other end.

I predict Barcelona will win this match with both teams scoring, selecting 3-1 to the hosts as a correct score prediction.
