Terrible Tykes and toothless Terriers to play out stalemate

While these sides are separated by 15 places in the league table ahead of this game, it is hard to pick a winner either way. This is largely because both sides have played to such a poor standard of late.

Barnsley have not recorded a worse 20-game start to a second-tier campaign in over a decade. However, a 0-0 draw against Peterborough last time out was something of an improvement following three straight league defeats.

Perhaps giving the hosts more encouragement is their positive recent record against their Yorkshire rivals. Evidently, the hosts are unbeaten in four straight home league H2Hs (W3, D1) with both teams scoring in all games.

Huddersfield away woes to continue

Despite the fact that Huddersfield appear reasonably close to the top-six, they were one of the pre-season relegation favourites and that is beginning to show in their league form. In fact, Huddersfield sit 19th in the five-game form table!

That is especially true when considering their away form – the Terries have lacked bite on their travels and subsequently failed to score in four of their last six league trips (D2, L4).

All in all, I think a draw is the most likely outcome here given the woeful form of both sides. This could easily be a 0-0 given how blunt their respective front lines are, but I am predicting a scrappy 1-1 draw with two poor defences conceding.
