Celtic lost 2-1 at home to Bayern Munich in the first-leg of this Champions League tie and things are set to get rougher when they head to the Allianz Arena on Tuesday.

Celtic had avoided defeat in their first four European games of the campaign before that defeat. Their results at Celtic Park were key to getting them through the first stage, as they picked up only two points from their four trips.

Celtic were hammered 7-1 at Borussia Dortmund and 4-2 at Aston Villa in the League Phase, while they’ve been no strangers to heavy European losses in recent years. The Scottish side have lost by at least two goals in visits to Leipzig, Real Madrid, Atletico, Feyenoord and Lazio since 2022.

They head to a Bayern side who have already recorded a 9-2 win over Dinamo Zagreb and a 3-1 win over Slovan Bratislava at home this season. Vincent Kompany’s men have scored at least three times in their last seven home matches, netting 27 goals and conceding nine in that run.

Bayern should have little trouble building on their lead to secure a spot in the last 16, so back them to win in high-scoring fashion.
