Rovers to claim victory

Back Valerien Ismael’s Blackburn to beat Cardiff at Ewood Park on Saturday. They haven’t shipped a goal in four of the last six Championship meetings with Cardiff and can push the Welsh club closer to relegation trouble.

Rovers are ninth in the league, 12 places and 16 points above Cardiff. The visitors sit 21st with eight wins, 12 draws and 17 defeats from their 37 games this season, while Blackburn have won 15 and lost 14.

Cardiff lost 2-1 to Luton on Tuesday, their third consecutive Championship defeat. Priced at 7/5 to win the game, Cardiff didn’t have the best of luck – they created goalscoring chances and hit the woodwork but ultimately fell short against a drop-zone rival.

Blackburn have avoided defeat in nine of their last ten Championship games against Cardiff, and the visitors have lost their last three matches. They have won just one of their last eight and a fourth straight defeat here would equal their worst losing run of the season.

The visitors’ struggles at the back will be a concern for Cardiff, who have gone 12 games without a clean sheet on their travels. They have shipped 37 goals in 18 away games this season – an average of over two goals per game.

A 2-0 win for Blackburn looks the best correct-score bet. Three of Cardiff’s last four away games in the Championship have ended in defeat, and Blackburn’s last two league wins have both been by a 2-0 scoreline.
