Bologna to Win

Reason for tip

Bologna had won three in a row at home before losing to Verona last time out, while they are on a run of half a dozen victories from their last nine league outings. Roma are without a win on the road since April, dating back 15 matches and including seven defeats.

Bologna 1-0

Reason for tip

Bologna have won two of their last four home games 1-0, beating Lecce and Fiorentina. Roma recently lost 1-0 at Napoli and have conceded exactly once in six of their last nine on the road.

Bologna vs Roma Predictions

  • Bologna have only lost one of their last twelve home league games
  • Roma remain winless on the road in the league this season
  • Bologna are on a run of six wins in nine Serie A fixtures

Bologna proving strong at home

Bologna’s 3-2 defeat at home to Verona last time out should prove nothing more than a blip, as they attempt to bounce back to winning ways.

The match came before the winter break, but prior to that, the Red and Blues had been displaying some really strong form, winning six times in eight Serie A outings to close in on the top four.

Vincenzo Italiano’s side have been particularly good at Stadio Renato Dall’Ara, where they had three in a row before losing to Verona, beating Lecce (1-0), Venezia (3-0) and, most impressively, Fiorentina (1-0).

Roma still frail on the road

That is not good news for Roma, who make the trip to Bologna as one of only two teams in Serie A yet to win an away league game this season!

Claudio Ranieri’s side have so far picked up five draws and four defeats from nine outings, including losses to Napoli (1-0) and Como (2-0) since mid-November.

They have picked up better results at the Stadio Olimpico, but that has not translated to away matches, with the Wolves now without a win in 15 games across all competitions, dating back to April.

I predict that Bologna will win this game, with 1-0 my correct score prediction.
