Bolton vs Burnley Predictions
The trajectory of these two clubs could not be more different, with Bolton heading into League One, while Burnley will play their football in the Premier League next season. It is a far cry from a few years ago when both teams were in the top-flight and Burnley manager Owen Coyle walked out on the club to join Bolton, who stayed up that season, while the Clarets were relegated. Coyle claimed Bolton were “10 years ahead” of Burnley when he joined Wanderers, comments that have come back to haunt the Scot, who now coaches Blackburn Rovers.
The Coyle affair has led to a small rivalry being inflamed between these two sides and it could be a spicy match in front of what is likely to be a big crowd that heads to the Macron Stadium to see a game that is almost but not quite a local derby.
Burnley’s preparations for returning to the Premier League have been decent on the pitch but poor away from it, with a lack of investment leaving manager Sean Dyche hamstrung and frustrated in his attempts to strengthen his first team. But Dyche has led the Clarets to two wins from their three pre-season games and they should come out on top again here.
Bolton have not played anyone of Burnley’s class yet this season – Dyche’s men won the Championship easily last year – and it will be hard for them to live with players as dangerous as the hotshot Andre Gray, who was recently revealed to be dating Little Mix single Leigh-Anne Pinnock. Gray to score is a tempting bet, but our main tip for this match is Burnley to Win at 10/11 with bet365.
Goals look likely, so our tip from the correct scores market is Burnley to Win 3-1 at 12/1 with bet365 for this club friendly.
