Boreham Wood vs Wrexham Predictions

  • Wrexham have won 10 of their last 14 away National League games.
  • Boreham Wood have lost seven of their last 11 league games, including two of their last three at home.
  • Wrexham have scored at least two goals in six of their last ten road trips.

Reds racing to the finish line

Wrexham will attempt to keep the pressure on leaders Stockport when they travel to Meadow Park to face Boreham Wood on Monday. The Reds aren’t giving up hope of overhauling the Hatters, who suffered a shock 2-1 loss at home to the Wood on Saturday, for the sole automatic promotion spot without having to extend their season.
Phil Parkinson’s men have won seven of their last nine games and been involved in some humdingers – with this clash having the potential for another. The Wood gave their playoff chances an unexpected shot in the arm at the weekend now and will also be looking to entertain a bumper Bank Holiday crowd.
Luke Garrard’s team looked set to challenge for promotion until they hit a sticky patch right after facing Everton in the FA Cup. They went ten games without a win until overcoming Bromley late last month, but lost ground in a defeat to  to Southend just prior to springing the surprise at Stockport.

Wood without star midfielder again

Tiredness from playing so many games has been a factor – as has a recent injury to star midfielder Josh Rees. It’s hard to see how they get anything from this clash with Wrexham boasting the most potent attack in the National League and in rampaging form.
Boreham Wood have conceded at least two goals in three of their last six games and probably should have done again at Stockport, who hit the post deep in stoppage time. With Wrexham scoring multiple times in six of their last ten road trips, our recommendation here is to back the Reds to win with at least two strikes in the game. Wrexham will want to kill the game off as soon as possible, but we are discouraged from taking them in the HT/FT market by their record of not having led at the break in any of their last four away matches.
A 2-0 Reds win would set them up nicely for their crucial home clash with Stockport coming up and that should have legs, given the Wood have failed to score in two of their last four home matches.
