Dortmund can claim narrow victory

The best bet is a Borussia Dortmund win when they host Monchengladbach at Signal Iduna Park on Sunday.

Monchengladbach are one place above Dortmund in the table, but just two points separate the two sides. The visitors, who have won 13 and lost 11 of their 29 games, are seventh, with Dortmund eighth.

Dortmund, who were knocked out of the Champions League by Barcelona in midweek, are unbeaten in five of the last six Bundesliga meetings with Monchengladbach and should be confident of bouncing back with a win.

The hosts have been prolific in front of goal at home this season, scoring 34 goals in the Bundesliga. They have averaged two goals a game in their seven home matches against other top-half teams.

Monchengladbach’s recent form has been inconsistent, with three wins, one draw and two defeats in their last six games. They beat fourth-placed Leipzig 1-0 during that run, but also lost to SC Freiburg and Mainz.

Monchengladbach have been vulnerable defensively recently. They have failed to keep a clean sheet in eight of their last ten Bundesliga games.
