      Bournemouth vs Middlesbrough Predictions

Bournemouth were the latest team to fall victim to the rampant Tottenham last weekend as they visited White Hart Lane and slinked away on the back of a 4-0 defeat to the title chasing Spurs, following on from their loss at home to fellow title hopefuls Chelsea the weekend before.

This leaves The Cherries without a win in four games, which looks a worrying run of form until you take into consideration their opponents. They have had to face Spurs, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Southampton in this period, with all games apart from the Chelsea one being away from home. In fairness two points from these four games is a decent return.

This four match winless streak follows on from back to back wins over West Ham and Swansea as well, and with a fairly easy looking run from now until the end of the season Bournemouth will be confident they can maintain the seven point gap between them and the Premier League relegation zone.

Middlesbrough have a lot of work to do though. They sit second from bottom, only bettering their north east rivals Sunderland, and find themselves some six points adrift of safety. They do have a game in hand on the two teams above them, but that’s not much use when they can’t seem to pick up points.

Their latest failure was a somewhat expected 2-1 loss at home to Arsenal, a defeat which makes it eight games without a win in all competitions. This in itself is poor, but when you look at their Premier League form things get a lot worse for the Riverside outfit.

In the league Boro are winless since the middle of December, with nine defeats and six draws making up their 15 matches since then. Away from home they haven’t won since their first trip away of the season and have lost seven of their last nine, whilst Bournemouth have won two of their last three.

It’s hard to see Middlesbrough picking up points from anywhere at the moment, so odds of 17/20 for a Bournemouth win look good value along with a 1-0 correct score predictions at 7/1.
