Brentford vs Leicester City Predictions
- Brentford have seven wins in 13 home Premier League games, losing just once.
- Leicester have lost their last five games.
- Ivan Toney has three goals in his last five games.
Free falling Foxes head to Brentford
Leicester head to Brentford on Saturday seeking to end a run of five straight defeats in all competitions but they may struggle to get a result against their in-form hosts.
The Foxes sit in 16th spot and only a superior goal difference is keeping them out of the bottom three, while Brentford are still in with a chance of qualifying for Europe as they are just three points adrift of Newcastle in fifth after their midweek win at Southampton.
Bees boast impressive home record
Brentford have an excellent record at their Brentford Community Stadium home and have just one Premier League defeat in front of their own fans this season, a 3-0 loss to Arsenal back in September.
The Bees did suffer an FA Cup loss at home to West Ham in January, but have won three of their four home assignments since that defeat and look well placed to overcome Leicester this weekend.
The visitors’ dip in form has coincided with an injury to Youri Tielemans and he is set to miss out again with an ankle injury. The Foxes have lost their last five across all competitions and have four defeats in their last five away in the league, and as such a win for Brentford looks the best option as our main bet.
Goals have become an issue for Leicester
Leicester have scored just twice during their five-game losing streak and they have drawn a blank in each of their last two away from home.
Brentfiord have only managed one clean sheet in their last five games but they have been stronger in that regard at home, with two in their last four games, and with Leicester looking out-of-sorts in attack a 2-0 win for the hosts appeals as a correct score bet – with Thomas Frank’s side averaging just over two goals-per-game at home in the league.
Ivan Toney had a memorable night at Southampton with a goal, an assist and a booking. The Brentford forward has 16 goals in 24 Premier League games this term and three of those have come in his last five outings, so I’m also predicting an anytime goal from Brentford’s leading marksman.
