Brighton vs Arsenal Predictions
- Arsenal have won their last four games in all competitions.
- Brighton are winless in seven.
- The Gunners have conceded in eight consecutive away games.
Gunners starting to fire
Arsenal have a chance to put a bit of pressure on leaders Liverpool this weekend as they head to Brighton in the late game on Saturday, while the pacesetters play on Sunday.
Arsenal are unbeaten in 12 and have won nine of those games, including each of their last four, and they are facing a Brighton side who are on a seven-game run without a win.
Albion have only lost once at home in the league all season so simply backing Arsenal as odds-on favourites doesn’t look a great play here.
Instead, both teams to score at a similar price could be of interest but I’m going to be a little bolder and take a chance on an Arsenal win with goals at both ends.
Arsenal may concede in victory
The North London side have won three of their last four away games, drawing the other, and their form suggests they can inflict a rare home loss on Brighton but a clean sheet is less likely.
Albion have only failed to score in one of their last 17 games overall and they’ve hit a respectable 13 goals in nine home league games.
Arsenal’s last away clean sheet came in a cup game at Championship side Preston back in October – a run stretching eight games – so Brighton should be expected to get on the scoresheet.
In-form Jesus a boost for Arteta
With Bukayo Saka injured, the return to form of Gabriel Jesus has provided a welcome boost for Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta even if the Brazilian isn’t a like-for-like replacement.
Jesus hit five goals in two games against Crystal Palace and is now firmly back in favour. The former Man City man made it six goals in four games in the win over Brentford and he looks a good anytime scorer option.
A 3-1 away win is the correct score pick as Arsenal have conceded exactly one goal in seven of their last eight away games, while Brighton’s last two losses have been 3-1 defeats and Arsenal have scored exactly three goals in three of their last five victories.
