Bristol City vs AFC Bournemouth Predictions

  • League leaders Bournemouth are unbeaten in 11 games this season, winning seven times
  • Bristol City are without a win in 15 home league games
  • Bournemouth have kept four straight clean sheets on the road

Cherries should maintain strong start

Bournemouth are setting the early pace in the Championship after 11 matches and their remarkable start may continue with victory at Ashton Gate.

The Cherries have been a breath of fresh air so far this season and would appear to be on an upward curve under Scott Parker, who turned plenty of heads when leaving Fulham to take charge of the Dorset club at the start of the campaign.

Bournemouth are the last remaining unbeaten club in the Championship, having won seven and drawn four of their 11 fixtures, and they have kept four straight clean sheets on their travels.

Bournemouth have endured goalless draws at Hull and Peterborough during that period, but a two-week layoff may have freshened up their fearsome frontline.

Parker’s attacking options include Dominic Solanke, Ryan Christie, David Brooks, Emiliano Marcondes and Jaidon Anthony and that strength in depth should give them the edge at Bristol City, who are still chasing a first home league win of the campaign.

The Robins boast the best away form in the division but have yet to win from five attempts at Ashton Gate.

Bristol City’s last home league win came in January – a run of 15 fixtures ago – and that doesn’t bode well against a ruthless Bournemouth outfit who have clear ambitions of clinching promotion to the Premier League.

The classy Cherries make plenty of appeal at a shade of odds-on and we predict a narrow 1-0 win for them.

All five of Bristol City’s home league games have rewarded backers of under 2.5 goals, as of each of Bournemouth’s last four fixtures on the road.
