Bristol City Double Chance (Win or Draw)

Reason for tip

West Ham were poor in the original fixture and a repeat of that performance would spell trouble at Ashton Gate, where Bristol City have won four of their last six matches. The Hammers will be without key men Jarrod Bowen, Mohammed Kudus and Lucas Paqueta and the Robins could capitalise on those absences.

Bristol City 2-1

Reason for tip

The match at London Stadium was a very open affair and both sides will expect to score once again. West Ham have conceded ten goals in their last three away matches and three of Bristol City’s last five home games have seen both sides find the net.

Bristol City vs West Ham United Predictions

  • Bristol City have won four of their last six matches at Ashton Gate
  • West Ham have lost two of their last three away games, conceding ten goals in that pair of defeats
  • The Robins have progressed from just one of their last 15 FA Cup ties with Premier League opposition

Robins ready to ruin Hammers’ hopes

Bristol City may feel a bit hard done by to not have made it through the original meeting with West Ham with a place in the fourth round after a brilliant second-half showing that saw the Robins equalise and dominate proceedings.

They may feel more comfortable at home however, having won four of their last six matches at Ashton Gate, and could be set to qualify from this tie at the second time of asking.

The Hammers can be vulnerable on their travels, as shown by their 5-0 thrashing at Fulham, and a repeat of the performances both sides produced at the London Stadium would surely see Bristol City triumph.

Absences to amount to trouble for West Ham

The Robins’ chances have been greatly boosted in the past week too, with news that West Ham’s two best players this season – Jarrod Bowen and Lucas Paqueta – will be absent for this replay, with both expected to be out of action for at least a month.

The pair combined for the Hammers’ sole goal in the original match and will be missed massively, alongside Mohammed Kudus who is at the Africa Cup of Nations, by West Ham for this fixture and in the coming weeks.

The East London outfit still boast plenty of talent though and could force extra-time at Ashton Gate, especially when it is considered they are unbeaten in their last 12 meetings with Bristol City.

The hosts should capitalise on West Ham’s absences prevail from the tie, but take the double chance just in case the visitors avoid defeat in the opening 90 minutes.
