Wolverhampton to Win

Reason for tip

Wolves were brought back down to earth by Nottingham Forest on Monday, but their revival can resume against Bristol City. Bristol City vs Wolverhampton Predictions

  • Bristol City have taken just one point from three home games against the Championship top three.
  • Wolves have won two and drawn one of their four games under Vitor Pereira, keeping a clean sheet in both victories.

Wolves to hit back at Ashton Gate

Wolves’ revival under new manager Vitor Pereira came to a crashing end as they were hammered at home to Nottingham Forest on Monday, but they should be able to get back on track when they visit Ashton Gate in Saturday’s FA Cup third round tie.

The visitors had beaten Leicester and Manchester United before a draw against Spurs before their humbling against the Tricky Trees, and they should have the quality to progress past a Bristol City side that have struggled against superior opposition.

The Robins have won four of their last five home games, but all four victories came against teams placed 18th or lower in the Championship table. Prior to that they had lost two and drawn one against the top three in the division, scoring just one goal in the process.

Given their recent upturn in performances, Wolves look good value for the win at Ashton Gate. They have kept a clean sheet in both wins under Pereira and a repeat of Bristol City’s 1-0 home defeat to Burnley could be on the cards.
