AC Milan to Win and Under 3.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

AC Milan have won four out of their last five games, including back-to-back away wins over Monza and Real Madrid. They should be far too good for Cagliari, who have lost their last three Serie A matches. Back Under 3.5 goals in the game too because Milan’s last six league games and four out of Cagliari’s last five have fallen short of the four-goal mark.

AC Milan 2-0

Reason for tip

Cagliari have lost their last three Serie A matches, two of them 2-0, and were lucky to get a goal by a big deflection in their 2-1 loss to Lazio on Monday. Milan have been scoring multiple goals in most of their matches but have not hit more than two in a Serie A away game this term yet.

Rafael Leao To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Rafael Leao, who has scored 35 Serie A goals in the three seasons before this, missed three good chances to score at Real Madrid. But the Portuguese star continues to be a threat for Milan and can score against one of the Italian top-flight’s worst defensive teams.

Cagliari vs AC Milan Predictions

  • AC Milan have won four out of their last five games, including back-to-back away wins over Monza and Real Madrid

  • Rafael Leao missed three good chances to score at Real Madrid, but continues to be a threat for Milan

Milan can maintain their momentum

AC Milan are fancied to continue their excellent run by beating Cagliari at Sardegna Arena on Saturday. The Rossoneri recorded a statement win at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday by beating an out-of-sorts Real Madrid 3-1, but the recent issues of Carlo Ancelotti’s side should take nothing away from Milan’s performance.

The victory maintains the winning momentum for Milan under Paolo Fonseca, who was facing calls for him to be sacked seven weeks ago. Milan’s derby win quietened those calls for a bit but back-to-back defeats against Bayer Leverkusen and Lecce still left him in a vulnerable position.

However, he has plenty of credit in the bank after overseeing a run of four wins in Milan’s last five games. Fonseca will attempt to establish the longest winning streak since he took over at the San Siro by masterminding a third win in the space of seven days on Saturday.

Cagliari imploded in Lazio loss

Cagliari look there for the taking too after slumping to their third straight defeat at Lazio on Monday. Gli Isolani were second best throughout and only managed to score their first goal in three games via a huge deflection.

Davide Nicola’s side imploded late on when Yerry Mina and Michel Adopo were sent off in the space a few seconds, both for second yellow card offences.

Milan should have enough creativity and firepower to get the job done even if Alvaro Morata is not quite as pumped up as he was at the Bernabeu on Wednesday or if Tijjani Reijnders cannot maintain his uncharacteristic scoring run. Rafael Leao, who missed three good chances to score at Real Madrid, should be fired up to make amends this weekend and his previous record in Serie A suggests he is due a goal.
