      Cardiff vs Chelsea Predictions

Cardiff were the pre-season favourites for relegation for many of the top pundits, and while they’re still in massive danger of a quick return to the Championship it’s fair to say that they have performed well above expectations so far.

Coming into their final eight games of the Premier League season, The Bluebird sit in 18th position and two points adrift of safety. However, with them having a game in hand over 17th placed Burnley they could find themselves out of the drop zone soon.

As you might expect, the season started off in a difficult fashion for Neil Warnock’s side. They failed to win any of their opening eight matches and picked up just two points in the process, but ever since a 4-2 win over Fulham they have looked much better. This is especially true of their home form too, with them collecting 71% of their Premier League points in Cardiff this season.

Three of those came in their 2-0 win over West Ham earlier this month, a result which made it three wins from their last six games. At home they have won five, drawn one, and lost four of their last 10 Premier League matches, so this is far from a foregone conclusion on Sunday.

Chelsea’s form is looking dreadfully inconsistent at the moment as well. The Blues lost 2-0 at Everton before the international break to leave them three points off the top four and in the worst form of all the other challengers for that all important Champions League qualification spot.

Maurizio Sarri’s side have won just three of their last eight Premier League matches, and this run includes a 4-0 hammering at Bournemouth and a 6-0 humiliation at the Etihad. Away from home they have won just one of their last five league outings, and even that was a far from convincing 2-1 win against Fulham.

All things considered, it seems absurd that Chelsea are such heavy favourites here. They have been very poor in the league recently and haven’t looked convincing at all when away from home, so we think the odds on offer justify a Cardiff Win or Draw Double Chance along with a 1-1 correct score prediction.
