Under 2.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

Six of Cardiff’s last nine home Championship games have featured fewer than three goals while five of Hull’s last six away league games have not seen a third goal scored. Both teams were involved in low-scoring games at the weekend and a similar scenario could play out with the threat of relegation hanging over both clubs.

Draw 1-1

Reason for tip

Hull have lost each of their last four midweek league games while Cardiff have drawn three and lost one of theirs. The Bluebirds have drawn six of their last 10 Championship matches with five of those finishing 1-1, so that looks like a good selection for this one too.

Cardiff vs Hull City Predictions

  • Six of Cardiff’s last nine home Championship games have featured fewer than three goals
  • Five of Hull’s last six away league games have not seen a third goal scored
  • Hull have lost each of their last four midweek (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) league games

Tension-filled clash could be ruled by fear

Cardiff and Hull clash on Tuesday in a relegation six-pointer that could go either way but is almost certain to be filled with tension.

The Bluebirds and Tigers are level on 33 points just above the relegation zone and a defeat in this game could have dire consequences with 22nd-placed Plymouth showing signs of life.

Cardiff held the Pilgrims to a draw at Home Park on Saturday after going down to 10 men early in the second half. Omer Riza will be forced into a reshuffle for the visit of Hull as defender Dimitrios Goutas will serve a suspension on Tuesday. Riza’s side did well to battle for a draw in the circumstances and they should be able to avoid defeat in this clash, despite Hull’s recent upturn in away form.

Draw could be on the cards in Cardiff

The Tigers have won four of their last five Championship away games, but are not worth siding with here because they have lost each of their last four midweek matches.

They too were made to work hard for their points in a 1-0 win at Sunderland on Saturday. Ruben Selles’ side held out for long periods after taking the lead through a wickedly inswinging corner that caught out the Black Cats’ keeper.

This clash is likely to be ruled by fear and is probably not going to feature many goalscoring chances, so an under 2.5 goals bet is probably the best way to go. Back a 1-1 correct score too with the Bluebirds having drawn six of their last 10 league games, five of which finished one apiece.
