Safety the target for Celta

Celta Vigo picked up just one point from their first four league games after the winter break in Spain but they’ve recovered and can boost their survival hopes by seeing off Osasuna on Friday.

Claudio Giráldez fought back from 2-0 down to beat Real Betis 3-2 in their last outing at the Balaidos and held 10-man Atletico Madrid to a 1-1 draw in the Spanish capital last time out.

Their form in January may have been poor but most of Celta’s issues came on the road and at their home ground they have been fairly strong for some time. Los Celestes have just one defeat in their last six at the Balaidos, winning four and holding Barcelona to a draw.

Osasuna are a tough team to break down but they are winless in six on their travels in the league. They have drawn four of those games, but Celta are still involved in the survival push as they are just six points clear of danger and with that as motivation they look a decent price to win this Friday night fixture with home advantage.

Celta Vigo have conceded in nine of their 12 home games and Osasuna have only failed to find the back of the net in one of their last four trips across all competitions. Both teams have scored in each of the visitors’ last five La Liga games so we may see goals at both ends in this clash, so a 2-1 win for the hosts has a chance in the correct score market.

Pablo Duran managed just two goals in his first 10 games of the season but has found a bit of form of late. The 23-year-old has two goals and an assist in his last four games and looks the best option for an anytime goal against Osasuna.
