Celtic can bounce back against Dons

Celtic suffered only their second Scottish Premiership defeat of the season at Hibernian on Saturday but there were extenuating circumstances for that 2-1 setback as it came just days after their heartbreaking Champions League exit at the hands of Bayern Munich.

The Bhoys will now hope to get back on track against Aberdeen and they should be confident given they have won 12 of their 13 Premiership matches at Celtic Park this season and have not lost a domestic game at the venue since December 2023.

Brendan Rodgers’ side are also unbeaten in their last 28 meetings with Aberdeen, winning 22 of those, while the last time the side’s clashed in Glasgow, it ended in a 6-0 win for the Hoops.

Light at the end of the tunnel for Aberdeen

Aberdeen made a flying start to the season and remain the only team to have taken Premiership points off Celtic at Celtic Park this season, claiming a 2-2 draw in October.

However, the Dons endured a miserable period from the end of November to the start of this month, failing to win for 14-straight league games until they edged past Dundee on February 15th.

Jimmy Thelin’s side followed that up with Saturday’s victory over Kilmarnock and they could keep things competitive in Glasgow, but Celtic should still be able to return to winning ways with something to spare.
