Celtic and Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Celtic have won 13 of their 15 home games in the Premiership and have already beaten Hearts twice this season, by an aggregate score of 6-1, so they should be able to get back to winning ways after a derby defeat last time out. Celtic have just one clean sheet in their last six games and Hearts have scored in 17 of their last 18, so back the hosts to win and concede.

Celtic 3-1

Reason for tip

Celtic have scored a whopping 50 goals in just 15 home Premiership games and a 3-1 home win has a chance, as Hearts haven’t conceded more than three goals in any game since these sides last met.

Celtic vs Hearts Predictions

  • Celtic have won their last three games against Hearts.
  • Celtic have three wins in their last four.
  • Hearts have scored in 17 of their last 18 games.

Hearts can grab a rare goal at Parkhead

Celtic have had two weeks to mull over their defeat to Old Firm rivals Rangers and they can take some of their frustrations out on visitors Hearts this weekend.

That 3-2 loss was just Celtic’s third of the season in the Premiership and it also ended their unbeaten record in the league at Celtic Park.

The Glasgow giants should be able to bounce back with three points on Saturday as they have already beaten Hearts twice this season, by an aggregate score of 6-1, but the visitors arrive in form and they can at least deny Celtic a clean sheet even if they can’t take any points.

The Bhoys have been excellent defensively at home but they have conceded in their last two home league games, and they have just one clean sheet in their last six overall. Hearts managed to strike in defeat at Tynecastle when these sides last met in November and the Edinburgh side come into Saturday’s game in great form. The Jambos have just two defeats in their last 14 games across all competitions and have only failed to score in one of their last 18.

Celtic no longer need the points as they are still 13 points ahead of Rangers but they will feel they need to respond and they should still be able to win fairly comfortably. Brendan Rodgers’ side have scored a whopping 50 goals in just 15 home Premiership games and a 3-1 home win seems a reasonable correct score prediction, as Hearts haven’t conceded more than three goals in any game since these sides last met.
