Celtic to Win and Over 3.5 Match Goals

      Reason for tip

Celtic are averaging over three goals per game in Scottish Premiership home matches this season and despite recent setbacks, they should have enough in the tank to see off poor travellers Kilmarnock, although the visitors could contribute to a high-scoring game.

      Celtic 3-1

      Reason for tip

Celtic score at regular intervals on home soil and after netting three in their last home fixture against Hearts, they can repeat that trick when Kilmarnock head to town. However, the Bhoys haven’t been as solid defensively of late and are missing first-choice goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel, so Killie can net, bringing the 3-1 correct score into play.

      Celtic vs Kilmarnock Predictions

      • Celtic are averaging over three goals per game in Scottish Premiership home matches this season
      • Kilmarnock hold the worst away record in the Scottish top flight
      • Killie have not won at Celtic Park since October 2012

      Bhoys to bounce back

Celtic are cruising towards a fourth consecutive Scottish Premiership title and they will be crowned champions if results go their way this weekend, but they have taken their foot off the gas slightly of late.

Brendan Rodgers has seen his side lose three of their last six league games, most recently going down 1-0 at bottom of the table St Johnstone, but with a Scottish Cup semi-final against the same opponents to look forward to next weekend, they will be keen to fine tune their form during this clash with Kilmarnock.

The Bhoys should be confident of seeing off Kille, as they have dropped just five points on home soil all season in the league, are averaging more than three goals per game at Celtic Park in the top flight and have not lost at home to Kilmarnock since October 2012.

Poor travellers Killie could prove the ideal opponents

Kilmarnock boosted their survival hopes with last weekend’s home win over Motherwell, but they continue to struggle on the road, as they have lost six games on the bounce on their travels and have not won an away game of any sorts since October.

Derek McInnes’ side are the poorest travellers in the division, taking just nine points from their 16 away games, and they shipped five goals in their most recent road trip to St Mirren.

Killie did score in that game – going down 5-1 – and they have also netted on three of their last four visits to Celtic Park, so while the league leaders should return to winning ways with something to spare, the visitors can contribute and the 3-1 correct score appeals.
