Celtic -1

Reason for tip

Celtic have won all but one of their 14 home matches by two clear goals this term, netting 48 goals and conceding only three times in return. They can see off a Rangers side who played 120 minutes on Thursday, losing 2-0 at home to Fenerbahce.

Celtic vs Rangers Predictions

  • Celtic have won 13 of their 14 home games by at least two goals
  • The Bhoys have scored 48 times and conceded just three goals across those 14 games
  • Rangers lost 3-0 in their last visit to Celtic Park

Fatigued Gers could struggle

Rangers saw off Fenerbahce in the Europa League on Thursday night, but they required extra time and penalties after a 2-0 loss at Ibrox cancelled out last week’s 3-1 win in Turkey.

The Gers’ European progress comes at a time when they’ve lost consecutive home games to St Mirren and Motherwell in the Premiership. They’ve fallen 16 points behind Celtic and that gulf could be on show this weekend as the Bhoys look to avenge their heavy defeat at Ibrox.

Rangers won 3-0 at home back in January, having lost the first Old Firm clash of the season by the same scoreline back in September. They’re at risk of another heavy defeat, as the Bhoys have put together a fine run.

The hosts have won their last three games, scoring 12 times and conceding only twice. They’ve won an incredible 13 of 14 games at Celtic Park in the Premiership, scoring 48 goals and conceding only three. Each of their 13 home wins have come by a two-goal margin or greater and with the Gers fatigued and on the ropes in the league, another big win beckons for the hosts.

Rangers’ issues should play into the hands of Daizen Maeda, who has scored eight times in his last seven league games. He’s netted in four straight matches and that run can continue this weekend.
