Chelsea vs Norwich Predictions
- Chelsea have won six of their eight Premier League games this season, winning to nil on five occasions.
- Norwich are without a win in 18 consecutive top-flight matches, losing 16 of them.
- Norwich have failed to score in any of their away games this season.
Blues suffer double injury blow
Thomas Tuchel suffered a blow in midweek as both Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner were forced off injured in the first half against Malmo but even without a recognised striker Chelsea should have more than enough to coast past Norwich on Saturday.
The Blues were already 2-0 up against Malmo before their injury problems kicked in but they went on to score another two after the withdrawals to make it three wins in a row in all competitions. They head into the weekend leading the Premier League by a single point but have the chance to extend that lead ahead of Liverpool’s trip to Old Trafford on Sunday.
Goalshy Norwich continue to struggle
Norwich have shown signs of improvement over the past few weeks but the fact that back-to-back goalless draws is seen as an improvement is a damning indictment of just how bad they were prior to that.
The Canaries have still managed just two points and two goals in seven Premier League outings and they are yet to score away from home this season. They are now winless in 18 consecutive Premier League games and have lost 16 of those, so the outlook doesn’t look bright for Daniel Farke’s men.
Comfortable home win on the cards
Even without any recognised strikers in the side Chelsea won’t be too concerned. They have won six of their eight league games this season and five of those wins have been to nil.
Norwich, meanwhile, have failed to score in ten of their last 11 top-flight away games, making a bet of Chelsea to win to nil look very appealing. The Blues have scored an average of two goals per game in the league this season and Norwich have conceded at the same rate, so a 2-0 correct score prediction makes a lot of sense.
If you’re looking to dip into the anytime goalscorer market it’s worth considering Chelsea’s wing-backs. Ben Chilwell has scored in his last two league outings but is expected to make way for Marcos Alonso this weekend after the tight midweek turnaround. Chilwell, Alonso and Reece James have scored four league goals between them this season and backing the attack-minded Alonso to add to his tally looks very good value.
- Norwich have failed to keep a clean sheet in eight of their last ten Premier League games against Chelsea
- Four of Norwich’s last six Premier League away games have ended with under 2.5 goals
