Chelsea to Win and Over 3.5 Match Goals

      Reason for tip

Chelsea had won five home matches on the spin prior to their defeat to Manchester City, suggesting they should have no real issues against Servette, who were thrashed 6-0 by Basel recently and whose only win in five matches came against a fifth-tier outfit. The Blues have scored 29 goals across their last ten home games and could put a few past their Swiss visitors.

      Chelsea 4-0

      Reason for tip

Chelsea have numerous attackers who will be aiming to impress new boss Enzo Maresca and they could net a fair few against a leaky Servette defence which has conceded 12 goals in five matches. The visitors netted just one goal in their four Conference League matches last term and could draw a blank against the Blues.

      Chelsea vs Servette Predictions

      • Chelsea had won five home matches in a row prior to their defeat to Manchester City on Sunday
      • Five of Servette’s eight matches this term have gone over 3.5 goals
      • The Swiss side scored just one goal in their four Conference League games last season while Chelsea have netted 29 across their last ten home matches

Chelsea can build up a healthy lead

Enzo Maresca’s reign as Chelsea manager began with defeat on Sunday, but that was perhaps to be expected as they were facing the Premier League champions Manchester City and the new-look Blues should give a better account of themselves on Thursday when they get their Conference League journey underway.

They welcome Servette to Stamford Bridge for a qualifying play-off round first leg and given their visitors have won just one of their last five matches – that victory coming fifth-tier Signal in the Swiss Cup – it seems likely the hosts should win the clash with relative ease.

Maresca will likely rotate his side for this clash but Chelsea are hardly short of top-quality options and the likes of new signings Pedro Neto and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall as well as fringe players Mykhailo Mudryk and Noni Madueke will be eager to impress, suggesting the Blues could rack up the goals.

Stamford Bridge bound to see plenty of goals

Chelsea racked up a respectable ten shots against City and given they had gone nine matches without defeat – a run which includes eight wins – at Stamford Bridge prior to that loss, they should have no issues in putting their visitors to the sword.

The Blues netted an impressive 29 goals in that nine-match run at the end of last season and with plenty of players out to impress and a plethora of attacking options at their disposal, they could easily put a few past Servette, who lost 6-0 to Basel less than two weeks ago.

Five of Servette’s eight matches this term have gone over 3.5 goals while the same bet has landed in six of Chelsea’s last ten home games, so net-bulging action is certainly on the agenda.

Back the Blues to prevail in a high-scoring European clash this Thursday.
