Chelsea vs Shamrock Rovers Predictions

  • Both teams have scored in four of Chelsea’s last six Conference League games
  • Chelsea have scored at least four goals in three of their five group games
  • Shamrock Rovers have netted in all of their five group matches

Rovers could get on the scoresheet

Chelsea have made light work of the Conference League this season despite fielding a weakened side throughout the competition.

The Blues have netted 21 times in five games, all of which they have won, and have used the competition as an opportunity to give game time to youngsters such as Joshua Acheampong, Tyrique George and Marc Guiu.

They face Shamrock Rovers on Thursday and should be able to add their sixth victory in this competition.

The Irish side are unbeaten in the group stages, winning three of their five games and picking up impressive draws with Rapid Vienna and APOEL.

The issue is that Chelsea are a major step up on every other team in the competition and should be far too strong even for a Rovers team that have managed to punch above their weight in the tournament.

The visitors do pose a threat going forward however, particularly in the shape of on-loan Celtic youngster Johnny Kenny, who has scored five times in five group games.

Chelsea’s defence has not been impenetrable in this competition, they have conceded four times in five group matches, and Rovers could get on the scoresheet at Stamford Bridge, albeit in defeat.

The Blues have been in fine scoring form and have netted at least four times in three of their five group games, take them to win 4-1.
