Both Teams To Score and Over 2.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

Both teams have scored in the last six meetings to take place between these sides since June 2021 and everything points to another entertaining encounter. All five of Chesterfield’s home league games this term have seen both teams score.

Draw 2-2

Reason for tip

Chesterfield’s last two fixtures with Bromley and Walsall ended 2-2 and this may follow suit, given four of their five home league games have ended in score draws. Notts County are starting to show some signs of vulnerability, with only one league win in four.

Chesterfield vs Notts County Predictions

  • Both teams have scored in the last six meetings between these sides
  • Both teams have scored in all five of Chesterfield’s home league games this term
  • Both teams have scored in three of Notts County’s last four away league trips

Old foes set to put on a show

Chesterfield and Notts County bring up the curtain on Saturday’s League Two action live on Sky Sports and it should be a highly entertaining fourth-tier fixture.

These two last met in the National League playoff final in 2022-23 and Notts County prevailed on penalties after a thrilling 2-2 draw at Wembley.

Chesterfield went one step better last season, winning the National League title at a canter with 98 points, and there is every hope that these near neighbours can put on a show at the SMH Group Stadium.

Both teams have scored in the last six meetings to take place between these sides since June 2021 and Chesterfield have taken some time to adjust to life back in the Football League after last season’s promotion.

The Spireites have won only three of their opening ten games – five of those matches have ended in draws – and they trail fifth-placed Notts County by four points.

Defences difficult to trust

However, after a flying start, the Magpies have won only one of their last four league games and have to respond to last weekend’s 1-0 loss at home to Port Vale.

But Chesterfield have managed only two clean sheets in their opening ten games, with both teams scoring in all five of their home fixtures.

Notts County, meanwhile, are unbeaten in five away league games and both teams have scored in three of their last four road trips.

So both teams to score and over 2.5 goals is the way to go, a bet that has landed in Chesterfield’s last two league matches against Bromley and early-season leaders Walsall.

Both of those fixtures ended 2-2 and this may follow suit, given four of Chesterfield’s five home league games have ended in score draws.
