Chile vs Paraguay Predictions
- Chile are unbeaten in six matches and have drawn four of their last five.
- Paraguay have only lost to Brazil and Argentina in their last 11 starts, with six of those games ending all square.
Draw to suit both sides in Brasilia
With both of these sides proving hard to beat of late and needing just a point to guarantee their progress to the last eight, a draw looks the most likely result in Brasilia this Friday.
Chile come into this encounter unbeaten in their last six starts, with four of their last five matches ending level including their 1-1 draw with Uruguay in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
That result kept Martin Lasarte’s men second in Group A, though they appeared extremely leggy towards the end of the contest. The Chileans will be keen to freshen up for the quarter-finals and we don’t expect them to be going all out for the victory here at Estadio Nacional.
While Chile are almost certainly through regardless of this Friday’s outcome, Paraguay need a point to ensure their passage to the quarters after one win and one defeat in the competition thus far.
Eduardo Berizzo’s side were edged out by 1-0 by Argentina at the start of the week but have only lost out to La Albiceleste and Brazil in their last 11 matches, with six of those games finishing all square.
The draw is a touch under 2/1 here but that’s understandable for reasons outlined, and backers are advised to make a small stakes play on the stalemate and a 1-1 correct score.
