Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Coventry made a poor start to the season and they have seen both teams score in nine of their last 11 Championship home games, while Oxford have scored in seven straight matches in all competitions and beat Norwich in their first second-tier match this millennium last weekend.

Draw 1-1

Reason for tip

Coventry are winless in their last seven league matches and could drop more points against an Oxford side that impressed in their Championship opener, although the Yellows may struggle to take all three points and a third 1-1 draw since mid-April is taken on.

Coventry vs Oxford United Predictions

  • Both teams have scored in nine of Coventry’s last 11 home league matches.
  • Oxford have scored in their last seven competitive games.
  • Coventry are winless in seven league fixtures.

Sky Blues bounce back in midweek

Coventry, well fancied for a promotion push, were a bit flat in their opening 1-0 defeat at Stoke and Mark Robins will be looking for major improvement here.

Their confidence was buoyed by a midweek win in the EFL Cup, but their defensive issues have seen them concede in 11 of their last 12 Championship home games and an impressive Oxford can take advantage.

Yellows make flying start

The Yellows made a mockery of their pre-season relegation favouritism with a 2-0 win over Norwich in their first second-tier match since 1999. Another win may be beyond them, but they can at least get something from their trip to Coventry.

Both teams have scored in nine of Coventry’s last 11 home games in the Championship, and I expect that to happen again, while a 1-1 correct score prediction also appeals after the Sky Blues failed to win their last seven league affairs.
