Draw 2-2

Reason for tip

Coventry have drawn three of their last five at home while the Owls have drawn two of their last four games overall. The Sky Blues have shipped exactly two goals in five of their last eight home games, suggesting a 2-2 draw could be on the cards. The Owls have averaged 2.2 goals per away game across their last five road trips.

Sky Blues seek cup respite

Coventry City welcome Sheffield Wednesday to the Coventry Building Society Arena for their FA Cup third-round clash, hoping to recapture some of last season’s cup magic. The Sky Blues reached the semi-finals, losing to eventual cup winners Manchester United after a stirring 3-3 draw at Wembley.

Frank Lampard’s side have struggled for consistency in the Championship, winning only two of their last seven games to slide down to 16th in the table. Coventry’s home record offers some encouragement with City having lost only four of their 12 league games at the CBS Arena this season.

Owls flying high

One of those defeats, however, was to Sheffield Wednesday. The Owls arrive in confident mood, having found their scoring touch in recent weeks.

Wednesday have netted in each of their last six matches, amassing an impressive 15 goals during that run. This new-found attacking prowess could pose problems for a Coventry defence that has kept only two clean sheets in their previous eight home fixtures.

Both teams to score looks like the standout bet with the prospects of a high-scoring raw also looking good. Danny Röhl’s men demonstrated their strong mentality when coming back from three goals down to draw 3-3 at Middlesbrough.
