Draw

Reason for tip

Coventry excelled under Frank Lampard in February and March but have recently stalled with just one win in their last four games. They may have to settle for a draw against West Brom, who have racked up 18 stalemates in the league this season.

Draw 1-1

Reason for tip

Both teams have scored in 24 of West Brom’s 42 league games this season, so while a draw could be in the cards in this one, it should still be entertaining and 1-1 could be the way to go.

Coventry vs West Bromwich Albion Predictions

  • Only Preston (19) have drawn more Championship matches than West Brom (18) this season
  • Coventry have won just one of their last four matches
  • Both teams have scored in 24 of West Brom’s 42 league assignments

Coventry starting to falter under Lampard

Coventry were on an upward trajectory under Frank Lampard from late January onwards but wins have dried up recently for the Sky Blues, who may struggle to see off fellow playoff hopefuls West Brom.

Lampard took time to have an impact after his November arrival but oversaw four wins in five games in February and three wins in five matches in March.

But Coventry have since clashed with some of the strongest teams in the division, losing to Sheffield United and Burnley before a laboured 1-0 win over Portsmouth and a 1-1 draw with Hull.

They are just inside the playoff places but face fierce competition from a number of sides, including Friday’s opponents West Brom, who are just three points behind them in seventh.

Draws have been commonplace for Baggies

The Baggies have struggled to turn draws into wins at time this season and have consequently racked up 18 stalemates – the second-most in the division.

And given that these sides are so close in the table, the draw looks the obvious bet.

None of West Brom’s last four matches have finished level but four of their six games before that had finished 1-1, which looks like a good correct score selection.
