      Under 2.5 Match Goals

      Reason for tip

Both sides are inconsistent and goal-shy, and with plenty on the line for Crawley, this could be a tight, nervy affair. Northampton have seen three of their last four away games go under 2.5 goals, while Crawley have averaged just 1.04 goals per game at home.

      Draw 1-1

      Reason for tip

A draw could doom Crawley, but it looks the likeliest result. Four of Crawley’s last five games have seen both teams score, and Northampton have racked up seven 1-1 draws this season. Neither side has shown enough cutting edge to expect a high-scoring match.

      Crawley Town vs Northampton Predictions

      Goal drought backed at Broadfield

Goals may prove hard to come by when Crawley take on Northampton at Broadfield Stadium in League One on Saturday, and under 2.5 goals looks the best bet.

Both teams have lost more games than they’ve won this season, but Northampton are four places above Crawley in the table with ten points separating the two sides. The hosts sit 22nd with ten wins and 24 defeats, while the visitors have won 12 and lost 18.

Crawley beat Exeter 3-1 on Monday in their last League One home game, but Northampton have been in patchy form recently, with two wins, two draws and two defeats in their last six league games.

It could be hard to separate these two sides, with the 1-1 draw looking like a decent correct-score bet. Northampton have had seven 1-1 draws in League One this season and four of Crawley’s last five games have ended with both sides scoring.

A draw might relegate the Red Devils depending on results elsewhere, but they don’t look a value betting proposition for the victory they desperately need.
