Czech Republic vs Turkey Predictions
- Both teams have scored in Czech Republic’s last six games.
- Patrik Schick has scored in four of his last six starts for club and country.
- Turkey have scored exactly twice in each of their last three meetings with Czech Republic.
Czech Republic rue wasted chances
Czech Republic will have come away from their meeting with Georgia baffled at their inability to win the game as they outshot their opponents 27-4 and generated three times as many expected goals as them, but the 1-1 draw they ended up with leaves them in need of a win on Wednesday.
They are slight favourites in the betting markets for this meeting in Hamburg, but victory is unlikely to come easily against a Turkey side who know that a draw will be enough to secure the runners-up spot in Group F.
Crescent-Stars on verge of knockout stages
Turkey were far more clinical than Czech Republic in their opener against Georgia, but they have proven fragile at the back so far, shipping three goals against Portugal last time out.
That, combined with Czech Republic’s recent form and their desperation for a victory on Wednesday, makes an entertaining game a likelihood.
Goals expected in Hamburg
Both teams have scored in each of Czech Republic’s last six matches and Turkey have kept just one clean sheet in their last eight assignments, so attempting to hold out for a goalless draw is unlikely to work for Vincenzo Montella’s side.
Turkey have scored exactly twice in each of their last three meetings with Czech Republic and I expect them to do the same here. However, top spot is out of reach for the underdogs and they are unlikely to push too hard for the win, making a 2-2 stalemate an appealing option.
