Under 2.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

Denmark’s six UEFA Nations League group games produced just 12 goals and the first leg of their quarter-final clash with Portugal could also be low-scoring. Neither of these sides have looked particularly devastating going forwards recently and under 2.5 goals is a good bet at Parken.

Portugal 1-0

Reason for tip

This will likely be a tight game but if one side are more likely to win it then it is probably Portugal. The Portuguese at least won four of their six group games in this season’s Nations League and a 1-0 win to the visitors could be the way to play it as far as a correct score pick is concerned.

Denmark vs Portugal Predictions

  • Denmark’s six Nations League group games produced just 12 goals
  • Both teams have scored in just two of Denmark’s last eight contests
  • Portugal have won four of their last six assignments

Tight quarter-final tie expected

Denmark underwhelmed with their lack of attacking potency at Euro 2024 last year and it could be a similar story when they take on Portugal in the quarter-finals of the Nations League.

The Danes squeezed into the knockout stages of the Nations League from Group A4, finishing above Serbia and Switzerland but only winning two of their six games.

Goals were hard to come by in that group campaign with just seven netted and they drew a blank in their last game against Serbia in November, drawing 0-0.

Staying compact and tough to break down is a key part of Denmark’s game under head coach Brian Riemer and they will want to stay in this two-legged tie for as long as possible, so expect Portugal’s opportunities to be limited.

Portuguese could lack potency in first leg

The Portuguese could again be spearheaded by 40-year-old captain Cristiano Ronaldo but that was not always a winning formula in last summer’s Euros, in which they drew three successive blanks against Georgia, Slovenia and France before exiting.

They hammered Poland 5-1 in November but drew 0-0 with Scotland and 1-1 with Croatia either side of that victory and this game could also be short on goals.

That said, if either side are to win this game, it is likely to be Portugal, who were unbeaten in the group stage of this Nations League, so back them to win 1-0 in the correct score betting.
