Derby to Win

Reason for tip

Derby have 10 points from the last available 12 at home and can make the most of home advantage against drop rivals Luton. The Hatters were beaten at home by Blackburn last time out and have been poor on their travels this season with 15 defeats in 21 trips.

Derby 1-0

Reason for tip

Goals could be in short supply here as under 2.5 goals has landed in each of Luton’s last five games and in nine of Derby’s last 10 at home. The Rams have managed three consecutive clean sheets and are facing the worst attack in the league, so a 1-0 win for the hosts has a chance.

Derby vs Luton Predictions

  • Derby have won three of their last four at home, with one draw.
  • The Rams have gone three games without conceding at Pride Park.
  • Luton have lost 15 of their 21 Championship away games.

Proverbial six-pointer at Pride Park

Easter weekend will be huge in terms of the relegation battle in the Championship with games on Friday and Monday, and one of the key games kicks off proceedings as Derby host Luton at Pride Park.

The Rams occupy the final safe spot in the table and they sit three points above Luton, who are bidding to avoid consecutive relegations.

Both teams are in decent form as Derby have just one loss in seven and Luton have only lost one of their last six.

A close game seems likely, given how much is at stake, and under 2.5 goals is one option – but at the prices it looks worth taking the risk of backing Derby to make home advantage count.

The Rams have two won three of their last four at home and managed to hold title challengers Burnley to a bore draw in their last fixture at Pride Park.

Luton have been in good form but they were beaten at home by Blackburn last time out and a lack of goals is a big issue, as they have scored just 37 in 42 league games.

The Hatters have conceded exactly one goal in each of their last three games so a 1-0 win for Derby is the correct score play, as the Rams should be able to keep the division’s weakest attack quiet after holding off Burnley in their last home game.
