Millwall to Win

Reason for tip

Millwall to win looks a solid bet when they visit Derby on Saturday, with the hosts winless and goalless in their last five home games.

Millwall 1-0

Reason for tip

A 1-0 away win appeals as the correct-score pick. Derby have struggled defensively, while eight of Millwall’s ten Championship victories this season have come by a one-goal margin.

Derby vs Millwall Predictions

Lions can roar to victory at Pride Park

Millwall have avoided defeat on six of their last seven Championship visits to Derby and they are worth backing to get an away win at Pride Park on Saturday.

The visitors are eight places and 13 points above Derby in the table, but both teams have lost more games than they’ve won. The hosts sit 22nd with seven victories and 18 defeats, while Millwall are 14th with ten wins and 11 losses.

Derby have gone five home games without a victory, or even a goal, and new manager John Eustace could hardly have got off to a worse start as they went down 4-0 away at Queens Park Rangers last weekend.

Eustace has taken over at a side who are struggling to keep clean sheets, failing to shut out the opposition in 17 of their last 20 Championship games. They have conceded in nine of their last 11 home matches.

With that in mind, Millwall will be hopeful of getting on the scoresheet having scored in eight of their last nine league games. However, they have averaged just 0.80 goals a game in their ten Championship away games against other bottom-half teams this season.

A 1-0 Millwall win looks the most likely outcome in this one. Four of Derby’s last five home defeats in the Championship have been by a single goal, and eight of Millwall’s ten victories this season have come the same way.
