Terrors set to provide Gers with a tricky test

Rangers face a tricky test at Tannadice when they come up against a newly-promoted Dundee United fresh off a 1-0 win at Hearts last time out.

Admittedly that win was a fortnight ago, but it still puts the Terrors in a better mood than the Light Blues, who were spanked 3-0 in the Old Firm Derby before the international break.

Phillipe Clement needs to string some results together now to avoid the fate of some of his predecessors and getting on the wrong side of the fans, so the pressure is on to claim an emphatic victory on Tayside.

However, Rangers have not recorded many thumping wins for some time with Clement’s team managing only one victory by more than a goal in their last 10 road trips.

Goals have become a problem when they go away with Rangers registering fewer than two strikes in eight of their last 15 attempts and fewer than three in 12 of those matches.

Tannadice has not been the happiest of hunting grounds for them either with United, who have not shipped more than two at home since January, avoiding defeat to them in four of the last six clashes there. Opposing Rangers goals appears to be the way to go right now with Cyriel Dessers, who has been much maligned during his time in Scotland, now the club’s most potent threat while James Tavernier’s five-month goal drought continues.
