Dundee vs Forfar Predictions & Betting Tips, Match Previews

We’ve seen both the good and the bad of Dundee over the past week. A Greig Stewart hat-trick last weekend helped them put 6 past Dumbarton at Dens Park to get their League Cup campaign firmly back on track after a shoot-out defeat at East Fife. They made 4 changes for the trip to Peterhead in midweek but would have still expected to win the game. However they were beaten 2-1 by their League One opponents to leave Dundee down in 4th place in Group A. They have to win this match and hope quite a lot of results go their way elsewhere in order to have any chance of qualifying as one of the best second place sides.

Forfar Athletic of League Two are one place and one point better off than their more illustrious opponents and a surprise win for them would also give them a shot at qualifying although again they’d be relying on other results. They beat Dumbarton on penalties in their opening game and beat East Fife 2-0 at home last time out so it’s been a good showing from them but they were also beaten at Peterhead who currently hold 2nd spot in this group behind leaders East Fife.

Dundee are likely to make many changes from their abject showing in midweek but whoever they play, defensive problems still seem to crop up. They have played five matches this season including two friendlies, all of which were against lower division sides however they are yet to keep a clean sheet. That is extremely worrying with tougher tasks ahead in the new Premiership season and with Forfar playing well, you’d give them every chance of grabbing at least a goal here too.

As they showed last weekend though, Dundee have some good attacking players and at the other end they should score enough goals to win this match relatively comfortably even if they do concede so backing Dundee to Win & Both Teams to Score at 7/4 looks to offer really good value here.
