Dynamo Dresden vs Stuttgart Predictions
- Both teams scored in 62% of Dynamo Dresden’s home matches this season.
- Both teams found the net in 64% of Stuttgart’s away fixtures this term.
- Bottom club Dresden have won just six of their 25 league games this season.
- Both teams registered when Stuttgart beat Dynamo 3-1 earlier this season.
Dynamo strengthen survival bid
After securing back-to-back wins for the first time this season, bottom club Dynamo Dresden’s survival hopes have suddenly been reignited.
Successive 2-1 victories over Jahn Regensburg and Erzgebirge Aue either side of the campaign’s temporary postponement have allowed Dynamo to cut the gap to the relegation playoff spot to a much more breachable five points, though their chances of completing a hattrick of wins this weekend look slim.
2nd placed Stuttgart are the visitors to the Rudolf-Harbig-Stadion on Sunday, and fresh from a hugely significant win over Hamburg in mid-week, Die Schwaben’s confidence should be soaring.
Stuttgart secure key win
Stuttgart notched a last-gasp winner through Gonzalo Castro against one of their main rivals for an automatic promotion place, leapfrogging Hamburg and ending a run of four matches without a win in the process on what felt like a season-defining evening at the Mercedes-Benz Arena.
It’s worth noting however, that their dramatic 3-2 triumph was the third time in as many games that Stuttgart conceded two or more goals – and we think there is every chance they will concede again on Sunday.
Stuttgart (47) have scored almost twice as many goals as Dresden (25) so far this term however, and the high fliers, who turned Dynamo over 3-1 earlier in the campaign, have the final third quality to outscore their hosts again this weekend.
Both teams to score?
With an away win anticipated and goals likely at either end, Stuttgart and both teams to score combination is worth backing for Sunday’s game, while our correct score prediction backs the visitors to win 2-1.
Despite their underwhelming results, Dynamo conceded two or fewer goals in all but one of their 14 2. Bundesliga home fixtures since August, and with the host’s ability to keep the score down at the Rudolf-Harbig-Stadion well-established, Stuttgart’s winning margin should be just as slim.
