Eintracht Frankfurt to Win

Reason for tip

Eintracht Frankfurt are strong at home, with eight wins from 14 matches and an average of over two goals per game. Sitting third in the Bundesliga, they face 16th-placed Heidenheim, who have poor away form. Frankfurt’s quality and league position make them the clear favourites to win.

Eintracht Frankfurt 1-0

Reason for tip

A 1-0 Frankfurt win stands out as Heidenheim lost by that scoreline to Leverkusen recently. With a Europa League quarter-final in progress, Frankfurt may manage energy levels, but their home strength and Heidenheim’s travel struggles point to a narrow win being a likely outcome.

Eintracht Frankfurt vs Heidenheim Predictions

Another away defeat for Heidenheim

Eintracht Frankfurt are the best bet to win at home to Heidenheim on Sunday. Dino Toppmoller’s side have been impressive in front of goal this season, scoring 32 goals in the Bundesliga at Deutsche Bank Park – an average of over two goals per game from 14 matches.

They are third in the league, 13 places and 26 points above Heidenheim. Eintracht have won 14 and lost eight of their 28 games, while Heidenheim – who sit 16th – have six wins and 18 losses.

Heidenheim’s recent results have been a mixed bag, with two wins, two draws and two defeats in their last six games. They beat Wolfsburg 1-0 at odds of 4/1, but also lost to Bayer Leverkusen and Monchengladbach.

Eintracht Frankfurt have been good at home this season, winning eight and losing three of their 14 games, while Heidenheim have won three and lost eight on their travels.

A narrow 1-0 win for Eintracht appeals as a correct-score option – Heidenheim lost 1-0 to Bayer Leverkusen in their last match – and Frankfurt might not be at full tilt as they are in the middle of a tight Europa League quarter-final against Tottenham following Thursday’s 1-1 first-leg draw.
