Frankfurt have one foot in the last eight

A 2-1 win in Spain last week gives Frankfurt the upper-hand heading into the second leg of this tie, but with no away goals rule anymore, it is only a slender lead.

The German side have not exactly been watertight in defence this season, which hands some hope to Real Betis. Indeed, they have kept just two clean sheets in their last 18 outings in all competitions.

Oliver Glasner’s side head into this one having won three in a row, but equally they have lost four times in five at home – this is a close game to call.

Betis finally back in form?

Real Betis ended a five game winless run at the weekend when they beat Athletic Bilbao 1-0, keeping just their second clean sheet in 11 games in the process.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side have a strong attack though, failing to score in just two of their last 17 matches in all competitions.

They will need to press forward in this one to overturn that one goal deficit, and they should have some joy against a leaky Frankfurt defence, but could equally be left open at the back.
