Milan look a good bet to win away at Empoli on Saturday. They have been solid at the back this season and should be too strong for Roberto D’Aversa’s side at Carlo Castellani.

They are eighth and Empoli are 16th, with the hosts having played one game fewer. Milan have won nine, drawn eight and lost five of their 22 games this season, while Empoli have four wins, nine draws and ten defeats.

Empoli’s 4-1 defeat at Juventus on Sunday was their sixth loss in eight Serie A games. The result was expected, with Juventus priced at 4/11 to win the game.

Milan have beaten Empoli in seven of their last eight Serie A meetings and the hosts are in poor form, having lost six of their last eight league games.

Empoli have been disappointing in front of goal at home this season, scoring only five goals in 11 home games in Serie A – an average of 0.5 goals per game.

Their form is a concern. They drew 1-1 with Bologna two weeks ago in their last home game and have lost six of their last eight games overall.

Empoli have been struggling to keep clean sheets in front of their own fans. They have gone five games without keeping out their opponents and have conceded in seven of their last eight home matches in the league.

Milan, who overcame Roma in the Coppa Italia in midweek, have the edge in terms of recent results. They have won two of their last three Serie A meetings with Empoli 3-0 and another 3-0 win looks a good correct-score bet here.
