      Draw

      Reason for tip

There is not much between these two sides in the standings and recent meetings have also tended to be tight, with a maximum of one goal separating them in each of the last seven head-to-heads, while the three most recent clashes have ended all-square.

      Draw 1-1

      Reason for tip

Each of the last three meetings between these two sides have ended all-square, including a 1-1 draw at the RCDE Stadium in May 2022. Given both teams have lacked goals for the majority of this season, another 1-1 share appeals.

      Espanyol vs Valencia Predictions

      • Espanyol have picked up 13 of their 14 points this season on home soil
      • Valencia have drawn two of their last four road fixtures
      • Each of the last three meetings between these two sides have ended all-square

      Espanyol solid on home soil

Two of La Liga’s bottom three will meet at the RCDE Stadium on Wednesday with 18th-placed Espanyol hosting a Valencia side that are propping up the division.

Espanyol have been heavily reliant on their home form, with 13 of their 14 points to date being accumulated on their own patch, a tally that includes Saturday’s goalless draw with Osasuna.

Only Wednesday’s hosts have picked up fewer away points in La Liga than Valencia, although the two points they have collected have come across their last four road fixtures, with Ruben Baraja’s side earning draws at both Leganes and Getafe.

      Draw should surprise no one

There are just four points separating Valencia from Espanyol in the standings and Los Che also boast a game in hand on their midweek opponents, while recent meetings between the two have tended to be tight.

A maximum of one goal has separated them in each of their last seven head-to-heads, while their three most recent clashes have finished all-square, including a 1-1 at the RCDE Stadium in May 2022.

Neither of these sides are prolific in front of goal – they are both among the lowest scorers in the division – so another low-key draw could be on the cards, although that would leave both sides still languishing in the relegation zone.
