Liverpool To Win To Nil

Reason for tip

Liverpool have the best defensive record in the Premier League and ten of their 17 league victories this season have been accompanied by a clean sheet. They have kept a clean sheet in four of the last five Merseyside Derbies, and Everton have lost to nil at home to Aston Villa and Bournemouth recently.

Mohamed Salah To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Mohamed Salah leads the Premier League goalscoring charts and has netted five goals in his last four in all competitions. He has scored 14 times in his last 15 competitive games and has form against Everton, scoring five times in his last six meetings with the Toffees.

Everton vs Liverpool Predictions

  • Liverpool have won to nil ten times in the Premier League this season.
  • Four of the last five Merseyside Derbies have been settled by 2-0 scorelines.
  • Mohamed Salah has scored 14 goals in his last 15 appearances in all competitions.

Merseyside duo look to bounce back from FA Cup exits

FA Cup exits stunned both these sides at the weekend, but it could be the red half of Liverpool celebrating come Wednesday night as Everton and Liverpool meet in the Merseyside Derby.

The Toffees loss to Bournemouth, while not entirely surprising, did bring an end to their resurgence under David Moyes, but the preceding three-match winning streak will have done wonders for their confidence as they look to escape the Premier League relegation battle.

First-choice Reds can bounce back at Goodison Park

Liverpool’s cup loss was a bit more of a shock as they lost 1-0 to Championship strugglers Plymouth, although it is worth noting they fielded a largely rotated side at Home Park. Still, a front line of Federico Chiesa, Luis Diaz, and Diogo Jota should have been more than capable of guiding Arne Slot’s side to victory.

This followed on from another second-string lineup losing in PSV in the Champions League, but their record in the Premier League shows how strong their first-choice lineup is.

They have lost just one league game this season and have built a six-point lead over second-placed Arsenal. Their win at the Vitality Stadium in their last top-flight outing was their 17th of the season and their tenth win to nil. The Toffees have failed to score in home losses to Aston Villa and Bournemouth since Moyes returned, so backing Slot’s men to win to nil is a good bet.

Salah to contribute to routine Liverpool win

Four of the last five Merseyside Derbies have ended in 2-0 scorelines and three of those went the way of Liverpool. That has also been the final score in two of the Reds’ last three league away days and was the scoreline Everton lost to Bournemouth by at the weekend, so all signs point towards that for the correct score prediction.

Mohamed Salah was rested for the trip to Plymouth, but the leading Premier League goalscorer is almost certain to be back in the starting lineup on Wednesday. He has scored 21 goals in 23 league outings and has found the net in each of his last four in all competitions. Salah has notched five goals in his last six meetings with Everton and could make all the difference once more at Goodison Park.
