Everton vs Manchester United Predictions
- Everton have won six of their last nine matches in all competitions
- Everton have scored the first goal in five of their last seven league matches
- Both teams have scored in seven of the last ten meetings between these clubs
Goodison atmosphere to be fervent
Everton play their first game since receiving a ten-point deduction as they host Manchester United in Sunday’s late kick-off. Goodison Park is likely to be a cauldron as Everton fans make their displeasure with the Premier League clear, they feel they have been unfairly treated.
Sean Dyche is an expert at channelling a siege mentality and it must also be noted that the Toffees had been in solid form before the deduction, they are still only two points from safety despite it thanks to the poor efforts of the Premier League’s struggling sides.
Dyche’s men have also won six of their last nine games in all competitions and are one of the worst possible opponents for Manchester United in their current state.
Recent struggles for visitors
After a fourth-placed finish and an EFL Cup win last season, Manchester United have gone backwards this season and have lost five of their 12 Premier League matches this term.
The Red Devils have been dumped out of this year’s EFL Cup by Newcastle, they have lost three of their last five games in all competitions and currently sit bottom of their Champions League group.
Erik Ten Hag has come under increased pressure as his side have struggled to replicate their form from last term, although the team’s busy treatment room hasn’t helped matters.
Casemiro, Lisandro Martinez and Andre Onana are among those expected to miss out, while Rasmus Hojlund is also a doubt.
With a makeshift XI, Ten Hag will not be relishing a trip to a rejuvenated Goodison.
Toffees to channel siege mentality
Sean Dyche is the perfect manager to get his players to channel what will be a fervent atmosphere at Goodison Park for this clash and they are worth siding with as a result.
Manchester United’s injury issues also make them vulnerable against a Toffees squad that has most of its players available.
Take the Toffees in the draw no bet market in what should be an enthralling clash.
Both teams have scored in seven of the last ten meetings between these two and the same is fancied in this one, take a 2-1 win for the hosts for correct score purposes.
Dominic Calvert Lewin is finally putting together a period of full fitness and could end up on the scoresheet in this one.
The England striker already has three goals in seven starts this term and could add to that tally here.
