Bolton to Win

Reason for tip

Bolton sit 10th in League One with ten wins from 22 matches, while Exeter, in 13th, have struggled for consistency with just two wins in their last six. Exeter’s defensive frailties were evident in their last home match, a 4-4 draw against Crawley after trailing 4-1 at halftime.

Bolton 3-1

Reason for tip

With Exeter prone to defensive lapses and Bolton capable of commanding performances, a 3-1 away win appeals. Bolton have won three of their matches this season by two-goal margins, and Exeter have suffered three losses by the same scoreline.

Exeter City vs Bolton Predictions

Trotters set for victory

Bolton are the bet away at Exeter on Saturday. Ian Evatt’s side travel to St James Park to face Gary Caldwell’s team and Bolton can get the win as they look to get their season back on track.

This is a mid-table clash, with Exeter 13th and Bolton tenth, but separated by just three points. Bolton have ten wins, four draws and eight losses, while Exeter have won nine of their 23 games, with four draws and ten defeats.

Exeter’s recent form has been inconsistent, with two wins, one draw and three defeats in their last six League One games. They lost 2-1 to Wycombe on Wednesday in their last outing and drew 4-4 against struggling Crawley in their last home encounter, having been trailing 4-1 at half-time.

Bolton lost 2-1 at Mansfield on Wednesday in their last away game despite having 67 per cent of possession and before that drew 0-0 with an impressive Wycombe outfit. A repeat of that performance could be enough to land maximum points.

Bolton can secure a comfortable win but, with a clean sheet not guaranteed for either side, a 3-1 win for the visitors is the way to go for correct-score bettors. Three of Bolton’s ten victories have been by two goals and Exeter have also lost three times by the same margin.
