Grecians can bounce back

Both teams to score is the best bet when Exeter take on Huddersfield at St James Park in League One on Saturday. Four of Exeter’s last six league games have ended with both sides scoring and there should be goals at both ends in this one.

Huddersfield are seven places higher up the table and have 11 more points than Exeter. The hosts are 16th with 14 wins, 11 draws and 19 losses, while Huddersfield are ninth having won 19, drawn seven and lost 18.

Exeter have gone four League One home games without a win and Huddersfield haven’t been getting many wins, recording only one victory in their last seven games. The visitors are struggling, with their last four matches ending in defeat.

Exeter lost 3-1 to Crawley on Monday, in what was Crawley’s first win in four League One games. Priced as 21/10 outsiders, Exeter would have been hoping to be more competitive than the final margin of defeat, but this game continued their recent trend of matches with both teams scoring.

Both teams are struggling defensively, with Exeter failing to keep a clean sheet in seven of their last nine League One games and Huddersfield going 13 games without shutting out the opposition.

Exeter may be able to edge out Huddersfield in a closely-fought game, with a 2-1 home win the correct-score pick. The visitors have lost six of their last seven League One away games and Huddersfield have lost out by the odd goal in four of their last six matches.
